Filmed on location in Scotland, the team set out to authentically recreate the chaos and devastation following the horrific 1988 plane crash. A wide range of meticulously engineered sequences were developed, including rigging a car so it’s bonnet would launch off in a controlled explosion, constructing a roof designed to collapse into flames using a precision weak-knee rig, a replica ULD was built in the Sunbury-based workshop before being transported to Scotland, where it was torn apart with a combination of pyrotechnics and propane rigs.

An entire town was brought to life with fire, as flames poured from the windows of every house, creating a harrowing and immersive atmosphere for the show. The results were both technically ambitious and emotionally powerful, anchoring the drama in a visceral sense of realism.
